Here are just a few of many client success stories.

Medical Misdiagnosis Turned Tragic

Our client’s minor daughter was complaining of back pain and when the pain persisted, they brought her to Hollywood Memorial Hospital. After a brief checkup they were told it was “gas pains” and the attending physician sent her home. When the condition continued to persist, they returned to the ER the following day. The attending doctor said nothing was wrong with her and gave her some pain medication and sent her home. By the next day the pain was becoming unbearable, so they returned for a 3rd time and insisted that the hospital conduct further testing.

The hospital eventually sent her in for an MRI for the lower back area where she was complaining of the pain. The MRI scan revealed that she had a tumor pushing up against her spine. They rushed her in for emergency surgery to remove the tumor. Unfortunately, it was too late and there was spinal cord damage rendering the child a paraplegic and wheelchair bound for life, necessitating around the clock medical care. If the condition was properly diagnosed, they would have been able to remove the tumor in a timely fashion and avoid her permanent and life debilitating injuries.

Sync Legal put together a top-notch Medical Malpractice legal team and we were able to expeditiously settle the claim for the hospital policy limits.

Wrong Turn Results in Catastrophic Motorcycle Accident

Our client was riding his motorcycle on Hallandale Beach Boulevard when a car unexpectedly took a right turn right in front of him. The result was horrific as our client suffered multiple broken bones requiring twelve surgeries and several months in the hospital, followed by over a year of physical therapy to walk again.

Through diligent litigation our team was able to determine that the driver of the vehicle was opening a candy bar and didn’t have her eyes on the road when she turned, not seeing our client at all in her blind spot. After client depositions the defendant’s insurance company Geico settled the claim for their $1 million dollar policy limits.

Gross Medical Negligence Leads to Wrongful Death

When a middle-aged man was walking home from synagogue one night a car speeding on Commercial Boulevard didn’t see him and struck him. He was taken via ambulance to the hospital in critical, but stable condition. What ensued over the next 24 hours was significant gross medical negligence on behalf of the treating physicians as well as the hospital. With no anesthesiologist on staff and an improperly trained intern residing over the patient, his condition continued to worsen. He eventually succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital leaving behind a loving wife and two daughters.

SyncLegal quickly assembled a team of highly skilled medical practice lawyers and got to work. The attending medical group not only denied liability but claimed that they didn’t have medical malpractice insurance. One of the reasons that SyncLegal chose the group of partner lawyers to work with is due to their previous history of suing and winning against this same attending physician team. The team of doctors had employed a sophisticated scheme of hiding their malpractice coverage, so it appears as if they didn’t have insurance.

Due to the history of our legal team litigating against this physician group, we were able to uncover their medical malpractice insurance and hold them responsible for their negligence. After aggressive litigation and deposition testimony we were able to secure a settlement of $3,000,000.00 for the family from the attending physician group. The claim against the hospital is still pending and being actively litigated.

How do you find the best lawyer for my case?

Over the past 25 years we have developed an optimal selection process consisting of several factors that we analyze, some of them for example are; years in practice, cases handled similar to yours, settlement results, trial results, trial percentage wins, percentage of increased recovery from pretrial offer to verdict, client testimonials, reputation in ‘inner circles’ of lawyers, percentage of practice that comes from lawyer referrals, speediness, thoroughness, and diligence, just to name a few.

How long does the process take?

When dealing with a death or life-threatening injury time is of the essence. We have a case intake we go through with you to get the basic pertinent information, then we assess whether it’s a case that we are interested in taking. Next step is to begin the SyncLegal match process of narrowing down the best lawyers for your case and set up a detailed intake interview, where together we all get into the specifics of the case. This also gives you an opportunity to meet with the lawyers and see if it’s they are a good fit for you as well.
